“You bought baklava…” Ryuu repositioned himself to look at Kouta through half-closed eyes. Kouta grinned, knowing that he was thinking of how they had celebrated his birthday. He looked down at Ryuu’s crotch, seeing the evidence of where his lover’s thoughts had led him. The dessert was forever linked with one of their best sexual experiences.

The rebel paused, having an inner battle about what to do. Part of him wanted to mash Jarrick into the ground. The other part remained concerned about Darion’s reaction. He and the negotiator were beginning to get back on good terms, having refreshed their relationship. He was reluctant to ruin the progress they’d made. Yet, he thought that Jarrick was deserving of a pummeling.

Armando rubbed his arms rapidly, trying to clear his mind of the images that had been bothering him for weeks. He had hoped that, by now, he would be able to sleep properly. Yet, this was not the case. Even now, the visions from the dream lingered, creating in him a doubt that he was truly awake, safe with Izdahl next to him.

As uncertainty took hold, Kouta became agitated. The more he thought about Takayuki’s words, the more he became suspicious. Suspicion fueled his rising anger. Maybe Ryuu wasn’t being straightforward with him. Maybe Takayuki knew that and was using it to goad him. Maybe that’s why Ryuu had acted so strangely the previous week. Sex had been awkward and Ryuu had said there was something he’d done. Kouta cursed, a series of painful scenarios running through his head.

Darion’s heart was heavy. He’d been quite open with Tolrek just now. Yet, his words went unacknowledged. It stung. It was not as if they’d never exchanged verbal expressions of love. Perhaps deep down inside Tolrek was still holding resentment about Darion’s actions with Jarrick. Darion hoped that was not the case.

There are instances when more thought and less action would be useful. This should have been one of those times for Kouta but he neglected to use better judgment. He’d lost patience. He punched Takayuki hard in his mouth, enjoying the feel of his fist connecting with the other man’s face. It was a bonus that Takayuki went flailing against a car. He stumbled sideways, stunned for a second but quickly came at Kouta. Soon, there was a rumble of scuffling, punches, shouts and overall testosterone-driven chaos.

Chapter 13 of Vaironian Tides is up! Some bits and pieces:
Early the next morning, Jarrick awoke, remembering that Darion was in a nearby room. He couldn’t resist and quickly made his way to the negotiator. Darion was relaxing, his handsome face serene. However, it wasn’t his face that Jarrick focused on for long. Darion was lying on his back and his perfectly rounded buttocks were exposed, as he’d kicked off the sheets during the night.
The guys from Balance, The Architect’s Guardian and Vaironian Tides have now written introductions for their special areas. A while ago, they’d vigorously negotiated with me to have spotlights for each of them. We came to terms:
